AMMI Canada Education Grants St. John’s 2026

For Members-in-Training currently enrolled in Infectious Disease or Medical Microbiology training programs only

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled in an Infectious Diseases or Medical Microbiology training program and be AMMI Canada Members-in-Training in good standing. To qualify, they must register for the AMMI Canada – CACMID Annual Conference 2026 and pay the full student registration fee. One-day registrants are not eligible. Membership applications must be approved or submitted and in progress before the conference begins on April 30, 2026. Applicants may apply for and receive only one grant per annual conference, even if they hold membership in both AMMI Canada and CACMID.

Application

An education grant application form will be made available prior to the start of the conference.

  • $350 for Members-in-Training attending from Newfoundland and Labrador*
  • $600 for Members-in-Training attending from Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, PEI, Newfoundland, New Brunswick
  • $850 for Members-in-Training attending from Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, NWT, Yukon, USA (all other states), and International

N.B: * Members-in-Training attending from the city of St. John’s, are ineligible.

CACMID Education Reimbursements St. John’s 2026

For Technical Staff, Clinical Research Scientists and Clinical Microbiology Fellows

Eligibility

Applicants must be microbiology laboratory technologists or technicians, clinical research scientists (without faculty appointments) or clinical microbiology fellows registered in a Canadian training program. All must be active members of CACMID. Applicant must pay the full conference registration fee (student or full, as applicable) and shared registrations are not eligible. Each applicant is eligible for only one grant per annual conference. Depending on available funding, the total funding pool may be capped and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Application

An education grant application form will be made available prior to the start of the conference. Itemized receipts must be submitted.

Grants available are as follows:

  • Up to $450 for Technical Staff and Clinical Research Scientists attending from St. John’s, Greater St. John’s area and International
  • Up to $750 for Technical Staff and Clinical Research Scientists attending from Newfoundland and Labrador (outside of St. John’s Area) 
  • Up to $1100 for Technical Staff and Clinical Research Scientists attending from Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick
  • Up to $1300 for Technical Staff and Clinical Research Scientists attending from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba
  • Up to $1,500 for Technical Staff and Clinical Research Scientists attending from NWT, Yukon and Nunavut
  • Up to $1,500 for Clinical Microbiology Fellows enrolled in a Canadian training program
